For as long as I can remember, I have always found solace in hiking. Whether it was a week-long excursion across 50 miles of the Appalachian Trail, or a quick stroll around my neighborhood park, hiking has always helped me to take care of my mental health. It has been a persistent method of keeping myself calm and helping me through difficult times.
That is why I chose to join a hike with HIKE for Mental Health; to help others recognize the mental health benefits of hiking and to conserve wilderness trails. I hope that through this initiative, others are able to use hiking as a similar way to take care of their own mental health.
That is why for every dollar donated, I will hike a quarter mile ($1 = 1/4 mile). I hope to reach my goal of $100 by Halloween. Use the grid I have provided and please consider donating any amount that you can! If you would rather Venmo me at @zsiegert and I will submit your donation that way. I will update the grid as donations come in and hopefully I will surpass this goal!
Thank you and happy hiking!
