I chose to join HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and conserve wilderness trails. Mental illness affects 1 out of 4 families in the United States, leaving those who suffer from it and their families searching for answers, cures and treatments that will allow them to experience the simple joy of living.
Because those living with a mental illness do not get a day off, I have challenged myself to hike EVERY day for the entire month of October.
