I chose to join a hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and to raise awareness about the rising prevalence of eating disorders in both men and women. Several of my loved ones and close friends have suffer and are suffering in silence, ashamed of their disorders. Individuals with eating disorders develop issues within many of the communities we love including running, long distance hiking, rock climbing and several others.
