In January my son and I did our first Hike for Mental Heath. I reflected on how hiking has helped me, not only recover physically from double foot surgery, but how it has helped me gain mental clarity and stability while strengthening my relationship with my teenage son.
I chose to join this hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and conserve wilderness trails. Choosing more challenging hikes really builds self confidence and doing it with a group helps build community.
