My Why
In my Mom\’s honor, my hero
My mom struggled most of her life with undiagnosed bipolar. Hidden and ashamed she was alone. It wasn\’t something people talked about. It is invisible.
She lived behind a curtain, over medicated and twelve years ago she gave up and sadly took her life.
Although it was the darkest point in my life, it also made me realize the suffering that the mind can put the human person through. Some of the strongest and respected people I know have suffered greatly with this disease. My mom was no exception.
Because of her, I have strength and perseverance.
I have a moral compass and compassion.
I have wisdom and a passionate heart for those who suffer on any level, most especially mental illness.
She will forever be the most sensitive, classy, faithful and strongest woman I will every know. She was hysterical and very witty , the class clown of her Graduating Class.
Every step I hike, every run, every physical thing I do is for her and in her memory.
Please join me and many others who want to be part of the movement to stamp out the stigma of mental illness.
Donate, Share, Speak, Hike …. live a life of understanding because some live in more darkness than others.

Always so proud of you and grateful for all that you do for this cause, Laur. Sadly I know too many people to dedicate this to, but this year specifically goes to a young man named Jake B. who was a big part of our life years back, and sadly recently took his own. 💔
Such a wonderful tribute and meaningful cause. Thank you.
Bi-Polar is such a tough way to live. I live it everyday. Hike for me, for your amazing Mom, my amazing Mom who also took her life. God Bless every single step you take.
Good luck to everyone hiking! Enjoy the view!!❤️❤️
