A few years ago I started hiking with my cousins just so that we could reconnect. One of them I hadn’t spent anytime with since my uncle took his life when we were kids. Hiking has been a great support and relief in my life since. Last summer I took off 75 pounds. This year I gained back 20 pounds after grieving the loss of my boss and I’m finally getting back to hiking.
Mental health is so important to our physical health and yet is so often overlooked or stigmatized. Mental health is something that shouldn’t be ignored. Too many people lose their lives because our society doesn’t like to discuss it. I’m choosing to join this hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and conserve wilderness trails.
Would you please consider making a donation, leaving a message, or sharing this page to help support me?
