I am a combat war veteran that suffers from PTSD and also went through childhood trauma and is a recovering alcoholic. I’ve tried everything in my life to help me with these three mental illnesses and couldn’t find anything until I started hiking. now it’s my absolute passion it made me see and appreciate the small luxuries of it would be an honor if I could help other people while I help myself. I will be hiking the superior hiking trail in Minnesota south to north which is approximately 300 miles and once I get there turn around and go back total of 600 miles. This method of hiking is called a yoyo for obvious reasons. I chose to join a hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and conserve wilderness trails.
