I choose to do this to bring awareness to the challenges faced by those who live with mental illness. As someone who has suffered from depression and anxiety off and on my whole life, this challenge is near and dear to my heart. Nature is so often my place to find peace.
I chose to join a hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness, raise awareness of its effect on families, and conserve wilderness trails.
I will be updating about my hikes on FB and IG so follow along for my October hiking adventures.
