Artist-hiker shares her talents with HIKE for Mental Health
Last October, Karen Viola marked her 50th birthday with a 50 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia, raising more than $3,000 for HIKE for Mental Health.
Hiking is far from her only talent, however. She is also a tremendous artist who serves as art director on children’s book projects for a well-known publisher.
Karen is offering three beautiful note card designs to the public on her website, with the proceeds to benefit HIKE for Mental Health. The 5″ x 7″ note cards are printed on 100% recycled paper, and shipping is free.
On her website, you can also read her artist’s statement and see other sketches and paintings she has created.
Karen, thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Karen, I want to thank you for sharing your talent and continuing to help families everywhere who struggle with mental health issues every day. Our son Jonathan Lundy is currently hiking the PCT trail in tribute to our son, his brother Logan who died December 15,2012 in an automobile accident. Finding this non-profit was so perfect for him and our family. I’m impressed with your hiking accomplishments.
Sincerely,
Lori Lundy
Lori,

Logan’s spirit is surely alive and his life will always be celebrated.
all the best,
Karen
