HIKE for Mental Health is excited to add another hike to our 2014 schedule.
The Pine Meadow Lake Hike, on March 30, ambles over hills, through meadows, across streams, and past Pine Meadow Lake in the heart of southern Harriman State Park.
Hikers may choose between a 7 mile intermediate hike and a more challenging 11 mile advanced hike. The groups will begin and end the hike together, with the intermediate group enjoying a longer rest beside beautiful Pine Meadow Lake while the advanced group tacks an extra 4 miles loop on to their hike before rejoining their fellow hikers for the final swing around the lake and back to the starting point.
The hike begins and ends near the visitors’ center on Seven Lakes Drive just outside Sloatsburg, NY on the NY-NJ border. It explores a variety of terrain, with plenty of challenging ascents and descents of rocky hills and fault scarps.
But don’t worry – all the hard work will be well rewarded with great views, great company, and the tremendous sense of accomplishment you will feel at the end.
Join us March 30 to explore this amazing wilderness region.
