Just minutes from Chattanooga, TN, the hike in the Lulu Lake Land Trust features two waterfalls, a serene chestnut tree preserve, and the views from the bluff of Lookout Mountain.
We are grateful to Cassidy and Emily for organizing this hike.
“Lula Lake Land Trust is set in the beautiful landscapes of Lookout Mountain, GA. They support this historic landmark through preserving its natural beauty while also promoting outdoor recreation for the public. And Lula Lake Land Trust is a fan of furry friends on the trails!” exclaims Cassidy, who manages a multi-location holistic day spa.
“I believe that nature promotes healing, and healing comes through a community coming together in a fight for awareness of the many mental and physical challenges that we all in some way or another are affected by. I love the support that HIKE for Mental Health offers and their commitment to being apart of the solution. I am excited to be a part of such an amazing cause and lead a HIKE for Mental Health!”
Emily’s day job is filled with leading psychoeducation groups on the importance of leisure and recreation in regards to mental health at a behavioral health hospital. She has always believed in the healing power of nature and wants to share this with others.
“I want to do a HIKE for Mental Health because I believe in the power of nature for mental health wellness,” explains Emily. “HIKE for Mental Health brings together two things that I am passionate about: the conservation of nature and greater awareness to mental health. Lula Lake Land Trust’s goal of land conservation in our area was a big reason why we chose to partner with them for our hike.”
