HIKE for Mental Health is teaming up with Appalachian Wilderness Guides to offer the class of 2014 assistance getting ready for and starting out on their thru-hikes.
If you follow any AT hiking Facebook groups, you may know AWGuides better by the name of its founder, Bob SirPackalot Gabrielsen.
Bob is offering a spot in his Thru-hiker Coaching program for 2014 thru-hikers who sign up with HIKE for Mental Health .
Appalachian Trail Coaching
The program includes
- pre-hike preparation via email, Skype, and phone to get help with logistics, equipment, and physical and mental preparation
- an in-person pack shakedown at the start of trail at the Appalachian Trail Kick-off (Amicalola Falls State Park, Dawsonville, GA, from March 7-9, 2014)
- an experienced thru-hiker to provide guidance and advice for your first 7-10 days on the trail following the Kick-off
The cost of the program is only $199 – you can easily save that much by buying the right gear the first time and avoiding redundant purchases!
Details about this program can be found on the Appalachian Wilderness Guides website.
Bob, we appreciate your support for HIKE for Mental Health hikers!
