By adding more hikes, we will spread awareness of the stigma surrounding mental illness and how it discourages people from seeking the help they need. We will increase appreciation for hiking and for preserving wilderness trails. We will raise funds for more break-through research to alleviate suffering from depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other major mental illnesses. And we will contribute more to trail maintenance organizations to continue their critical work.
We need your help to create and direct hikes in 2014
Our sights are set on hosting hikes in 14 different states. Could your state be one of them?
Our Mt. Washington began because a hiker came forward to organize and lead it. It started small. But the first small group of hikers had a fantastic time together, and since then, it has grown in popularity every year to become a major contributor to our success in 2013.
Help HIKE for Mental Health reach our 14 in ’14 goal.
