Can’t join one of our hikes? Turn your own hike into a HIKE for Mental Health.
Wherever you are hiking, however long or short, you can help us raise funds for important scientific research into the causes, cures, and treatments for mental illness. And a portion of the funds also goes to maintain wilderness trails. (See where the money goes.)
In fact, you do not even have to hike; you can walk, run, bike or paddle for mental health, too!
It is totally free and as simple as 1-2-3.
- Fill out an online form with some basic info about your hike. We will email you a link to your personal fundraising page.
- Personalize your fundraising page to explain to others why you want to raise funds for mental health research. (See an example.)
- Tell everyone you know about your fundraising page and ask them to support your cause. We have tools that make it easy to email them the link, post the page to Facebook, or share it through Twitter and other social media.
Then just enjoy your hike! We will do the rest, maintaining your fundraising page, tracking the donations you receive, and updating your fundraising thermometer to show your progress.
Everyone who completes their own HIKE for Mental Health and raises $200 or more will receive an official, exclusive, limited edition 2013 HIKE for Mental Health quick-dry shirt. It’s a fantastic fine-weave polyester shirt you can wear with pride.
So if you can’t join one of our hikes, do your own HIKE for Mental Health. Help make a difference.
